Recreation Aide Part Time, 15 hrs/wk Would you like to make a difference every day in someone's life? In this role, you will carry out rewarding work and play a crucial role in the success of our organization.
Provides training, assistance, and supervision to program group participants in the areas of living skills, therapeutic recreation, and other forms of assistance in both residential & community settings.
Assists with medical supervision.
Facilitates working relationships between community employers and Group participants.
Provide training, assistance, and supervision to individuals receiving care in the areas of living skills, therapeutic recreation, and other forms of assistance in both residential and community settings.
Assist with daily activities such as toileting and feeding according to the program and charting requirements.
May participate in community engagements, community outings, transportation of clients to activities, and assisting participants with activities with the day program Take participants into the community for integration activities such as the grocery store, recreation center, or bowling alley.
Responsible for holding participants' medication and money on community outings.
Work with participants in strengthening social skills to integrate into the community using appropriate communication skills.
Job duties might require strenuous physical activity such as participating in outdoor recreation (hiking, walking).
Assist participants with adapting activities such as swimming, bowling, tennis, gardening, and fishing.
Will require leadership skills in facilitating structured group programs and community outings.
Will be responsible for driving a bus or a ten-passenger transit vehicle to recreational activities.
Performs other duties and actions as required.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent Six months to one year of experience in the human services field Valid Driver's License from the state of residence Must be a minimum of 18 years of age Successful clearance of background checks A caring attitude with a dedication to assisting others Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective communication skills A reliable, responsible attitude and a compassionate approach A commitment to quality in everything you do Whether you have previous experience in a role like this, or this just sounds like the type of impact you want to make we want to hear from you! The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
