Summary:
This position will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing communications for social and digital media that strengthen the overall branding, recruiting, and retention efforst for the university.
This person will design marketing content for web pages, and multiple social media platforms, as well as be able to assist with scripts and storyboarding for visual storytelling.
The candidate will be responsible for the ongoing development of SIU branding on web and social media platforms.
This position will be required to attend and over events for the purposes of marketing the university.
Minimum
Qualifications:
1.
Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, communications, public relations, graphic design, or a closely related field.
2.
One (1) year of professional work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, brand management, or a related professional area.
3.
Two (2) years of professional work experience designing content for social media and/or digital ads in a professional setting.
4.
Experience with various aspects of multimedia design as well as experience working with video, photography, and other digital media related projects.
5.
Ability to edit content for proper grammar, spelling, and general usage.
6.
Comfortably able to interview subjects for video and livestreaming events.
7.
Knowledge of social media dashboards and publishing tools.
8.
Experience with developing and/or executing marketing plans through and for different channels including social media.
9.
Experience with embedding video, knowledge of compression methods, file types and formats.
10.
Broad base of technical knowledge and skills are needed.
11.
Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud, with special attention to Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects.
12.
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
Note:
Master's Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year (12 months) of work experience.
