The College of Applied Sciences and Arts (ASA) at Southern Illinois University Carbondale is seeking qualified applicants for an anticipated clinical instructor position within ASA''s School of Allied Health''s baccalaureate program in Radiologic Sciences (Sonography) to begin as early as June 16, 2014. This is a renewable 50% term faculty position that does not lead to tenure.
Required
Qualifications: Registered radiographer from the ARRT and credentials from the RDMS (AB, OB/GYN) as well as vascular. This individual must have at least two years of work experience as a sonographer. The teaching position requires a Master''s degree at time of hire.
Preferred
Qualifications: Ph.D. degree in a health or education related discipline and supervisory experience with Radiography and/or Imaging students.
Responsibilities: To provide direct classroom/laboratory/clinical instruction and office hours as assigned. To provide indirect teaching, such as: student selection, coordination of clinical education, student advisement, recruitment, and retention for the program in Sonography and Radiologic Sciences. Lift positioning phantoms and driving to distant clinical education sites. To participate in all program duties as described in accreditation standards. To participate in professional practice, seminars, or workshops necessary to maintain up-to-date skills in sonography. To engage in other duties as determined by the Director of the School of Allied Health.
