This is an Advanced Jazz Guitar Instructional VHS with the companion booklet, and access to the on-line video. The video mainly teaches advanced chordal harmony on guitar, but it also teaches some finger-picking patterns and some hot country licks, using the finger style, and also has a teaching on what I call " reverse picking" This video is a whopping 48 minutes long, made for ADVANCED PLAYERS only. The Booklet has the song examples written out in both musical score and tablature. The main meat of the video deals with very ADVANCED harmony. This video has clear instruction for playing a type of chordal harmony that has been lost since the 1920's. This type of chordal harmony is a forgotten art. The chords in music these days use a perfect 5th. This video teaches harmony using a flatted or sharped 5th, and clearly shows the freedom you have to play simple melodies with chords moving in a circle of 5ths, or up or down chromatically. You can play a different jazz chord on every beat or note, rather that just holding a plain old chord for a full measure. If you don't know what I'm talking about, then this video may not be for you.
